Do you have a large home that needs to have more hot water? Are you tired of having high utility bills because your hot water heater keeps burning natural gas to heat a traditional tank? The Rinnai RL75iN natural gas tankless water heater offers a whole home solution for continuous hot water that just can’t be beat. With residential and commercial heating settings that can reach up to 160F with an optional temperature controller that is purchased separate from this unit, you’ll find that it is competitively priced today at just $900 on Amazon.

What we loved about this particular water heater is that it is extremely efficient. It has been rated with an 82% thermal efficiency and the residential temperatures range from 98F – 140F upon installation. It offers 10,300 to 180k BTU of performance. Here are some of the other things we noticed with the Rinnai RL75iN tankless water heater that you may wish to know about as well.

#1. There are still limitations to how much water can be used. If you use three faucets at the same time, then you’re going to risk overwhelming this tankless water heater. Although it can support two low-flow showers at the same time, you’re not going to be able to take a shower, run a hot water cycle on the washing machine, and use your dishwasher at the same time.

#2. Your gas lines may not support the high level capacity needs of this water heater. If you’re planning on replacing a traditional water heater with this Rinnai tankless model, then you’ll need to check your gas lines. Many standard installations have a capacity to manage 40k BTUs per hour. If your line needs to be upgraded, then you’ll either need to make that investment or not maximize the use of this equipment.

#3. This tankless water heater is not maintenance-free. Many homeowners are looking at the tankless water heater design as a way to avoid common maintenance issues. You can’t get out of a system flush with this Rinnai system. For the best performance possible, we recommend a full flush at least once per year.

#4. This is not a ventless model. This water heater uses outside air for combustion, so you’ll need to have it associated with a vent. The equipment is very quiet and can be installed virtually anywhere, but an exterior air source is mandatory. If you don’t have an existing vent or the ability to create one, then this tankless water heater is not for you.

#5. You can have this water heater serviced locally. Unlike some other manufacturers, Rinnai does not disregard the warranties on this tankless water heater because it was purchased online. You may find that you’ll need to pay locally and request reimbursement through the manufacturer for warranty services.

The Rinnai tankless hot water heater works well. It doesn’t use as much energy, which means you’re going to save money. It will create continuous hot water whenever the tap is engaged. It receives one of our highest recommendations because this is a product that will make hot water generation a safer, cheaper process for virtually any home.
